PREPARATORY PROGRAM
EXPANDED TO BE BETTER THAN EVER!

9:00am - 3:00pm
The ZYSC Preparatory Program is a workshop for youth ages 11-17 who have previously auditioned but not been seated, or plan to audition for ZYSC in the future. The program will be SKILL focused where participants will have the opportunity to learn from the best: David Skouson, Holly Steed, Michele Poulsen and other amazing coaches!
NO AUDITIONS NECESSARY!
The program will help youth build sight reading, ear/audiation, rhythm, audition, practice and performance skills necessary for the excellence demanded in ZYSC, and introduce them to the culture and spirit of the organization.
The Prep Program will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (3400 West Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89102).
Note: Participation in the Prep Program does not guarantee admittance into ZYSC.
Preparatory Program Expectations & Policies
CHORUS EXPECTATIONS
All levels welcome
Bring a positive attitude and a love for singing
Note reading and vocal experience is encouraged, but not mandatory
Be willing to work hard and learn!
SYMPHONY EXPECTATIONS
All instruments welcome (piano, percussion, harp, strings, woodwinds and brass)
Bring a positive attitude and a love for music
Must have your own instrument (except piano and percussion)
Strings: Use of vibrato and shifting
Winds / Brass: At least one year of experience
All instrumentalists must be able to read music and feel comfortable with their instrument
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
Arrive five minutes before the program start time
Bring music and a pencil every day
Be respectful of others and the church building
Stay on site during the entire day unless prearranged with the Prep Program Secretary
Clean up after lunch and end of day
DRESS STANDARDS
Dress in clean, modest attire
T-shirts with sleeves (no tank tops or bare mid-drifts)
Long shorts or pants (no short shorts)
Tennis shoes or flip flops are fine
TUITION
Tuition is $150 and is due upon registration
